Alive but Dead Tired in Rustenburg
After our unplanned night in New York we boarded on time and arrived Thursday morning at 7:45AM. Mitch and Sarah picked us up at the airport and we drove to their place and dropped off our luggage and then went straight to Freedom Park to do the rounds with the care givers. We were arriving later than we thought so we visited fewer residents in their shacks. All were HIV positive, some with advanced AIDS. Most had TB. It was extremely hot and sunny and the heat took its toll in the small tin shacks. One fragile mother was there with her small daughter, Mavis. Both had AIDS. Little Mavis had the scars from infection. Heart breaking. We prayed with each and gave food packets and water.
Then it was back to Rustenburg to move our luggage to out small motel. A quick face wash and now we're on our way to the mall for a meal before we go back to the motel to crash! We have 15 minutes of internet connection here and hopefully will be able to tell more about our long day tomorrow.
Please pray for our strength. It is VERY hot and ry.
