Kids Games Day

Today was the culmination of the ILA student training got the week. We all drove to the small village where the students conducted a Kids Games outreach for about 150 kids. The drive was exciting. We were originally supposed to follow the bus with the students and teachers. GW was driving our vehicle which was linked to a trailer. Just before we left we were told to wait for someone else to ride with us and that they knew where we were going. So we watched as the bus pulled away. About twenty minutes later we left, but a rumble and dragging sound behind the van turned out to be the trailer which had fallen off the hitch. We got that fixed, but before we got to the paved road, the trailer and van got stuck in the deep sand off the side of the dirt road which had recently been graded. We all got out and pushed and eventually got free of the sand. Then we drove into Mokapane and circled in a cramped parking lot while a RaG staff member called for directions. Once we got those directions, we had to follow our guide as she illegally turned right into busy traffic.

Through it all, GW kept his cool and was the hero of the day!

But the troubles were worth the effort. The village kids were enthusiastic and the ILA students did a wonderful job. It was three hours of wonderful, uplifting and entertaining of songs, scripture verses, and games.

A picture, they say, is worth a thousand words. So here are three thousand words that summarize the day:

For the entire team,

Hal
