Catimaté - A Great, One-night Escape
A novelette is larger than a short story with a smaller plot line and character count than a novel. In a flurry of writing fever, and at the urging of my wife, I just churned out a story line that's danced around in my head for years. Its a short novel that you can read in one sitting. (This obviously depends on how long you can sit at one time!)
Brandon Willis obsession with the ancient Timucuan Indians of Florida has been his life’s passion. He has an opportunity to temporarily leave his University post to lead an excavation of the oldest Indian mound in the state and he can't wait.
What Brandon and his team of archeologists discover at Hontoon Island State Park outside of Deland, Florida is fantastic, but incomprehensible. Professor Willis realizes that scientific thought, the origins of Man, and the very concept of Time are not what we think. And he’s personally trapped on a one-way trip to the timeless world of his dreams.
